Dragons
Dragons was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Poetry and the Welsh
Book of the Year Award.
It includes a long poem on the Atlantic Ocean,
from the margin to the hydrothermal vents of the Mid-Ocean Ridge, and
a sequence about the city of Winchester, England, where
I lived for sixteen years. The title poem reflects (very indirectly) what was then my recent move to Wales. Another of the poems, 'The Ornamental
Hermit', won first prize in the TLS / Blackwell's Poetry Competition.
